Randolph Prowell, age 79, resident of Westview Drive in Columbia passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 at his home.

A homegoing celebration for Mr. Prowell will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Carmack Blvd. Church of Christ with Bro. Nelson Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home.

Born September 28, 1936 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Zollie Prowell and the late Clifford Waire Prowell and husband of the late Ida Mai Murray Prowell. He was a graduate of Carver Smith High School and a member of Burn Springs Church of Christ. He retired in 1987 from the maintenance department of Monsanto after 26 years service, and he also retired in September 2015 as a bus driver for the Maury County School System. He liked hunting, fishing and working on lawn mowers.

Mr. Prowell is survived by a son: Michael Randolph (Doletta) Prowell of Cedar Hill, TX; daughter: Felecia (Michael) Armstrong of Columbia; brothers: Gerald Prowell of Columbia, William Mose Prowell and Clifford Leo Prowell, both of Nashville; sisters: Sarah Dixon and Elaine Henry, both of Nashville and Jackie Nelms of Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Antionette Armstrong, Derrick Armstrong, Michael Dante Jamal Prowell and Mario Gills; great grandchildren: Prenston, Harmony and Mario Gills, Jr.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Roderick Darnell Armstrong; brother: Zollie Prowell; and sister: Gloria Jean Prowell.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
