Jacob Overstreet

October 7, 1996 - March 3, 2016

 Jacob Brian Nathaniel “Cub” Overstreet, age 19, a resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 3, 2016.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia with his grandfather Calvin Putnam officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Promise in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 7, 1996, in Columbia, Jacob was the son of Chad and Crystal Putnam Overstreet. He was a 2015 graduate of Spring Hill High School and attended New Song Christian Fellowship in Cool Springs. His love for music preceded all. He loved playing the guitar and listening to music for countless hours. Jacob was an old soul who never met a stranger. Everyone he met loved him. He had a special love for his siblings and took extra effort in protecting his sisters.

In addition to his parents, Jacob is survived by his brothers: Josiah and Jaydn Overstreet both of Columbia; sisters: Jordan and Jenavive Overstreet, both of Columbia; maternal grandfather: Calvin Putnam of Columbia; maternal grandmother: Linda (Scott) Blake of Watertown, TN; paternal grandfather: Jack Overstreet of Michigan; paternal grandmother: Dawn (Michael) Wachter of Pennsylvania; aunts and uncles: Calvin Putnam II of Columbia, Krista (Jason) Bierly of Fairview, Ross Blake of Watertown, TN, Travis Blake of Georgia, Jennifer Blake of North Carolina, Chris (Tiffany) Overstreet of Pennsylvania, Ryan (Robyn) Overstreet of Pennsylvania, Shawn Overstreet of Culleoka; and many cousins. He is also survived by his soul mate Mya Vader of Columbia and special friends: Justin Bierly, Nathan Jimenez, Jacob Rose, Dylan Daniels, Kayla Dale, Marc Butts, Drew Reynolds, John Phillips, Alexa Goodman, and many, many more.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Putnam, Joey Stewart, Justin Bierly, Jacob Rose, Shawn Overstreet, Nathan Jimenez, Ross Blake, and Chris Overstreet.

Jacob’s uncle, Calvin Putnam II, grandfather, Calvin Putnam along with friend, John Phillips, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
