Margaret Louise Barnes Brady, age 88, a resident of Goshen Road in Santa Fe, passed away Friday evening, February 26, 2016 at NHC Columbia.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Brady Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM and on Monday from 11:00am until the 2:00pm service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, Margaret was born on January 4, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Clarence Barnes and the late Pearl Fox Barnes. She was a member of Santa Fe Baptist Church. She often enjoyed going on mission trips with the church, and in her later years she enjoyed traveling. She was well-known for her fried peach pies. Margaret loved cooking as well as quilting. She made many different quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Nancy (Hal) Whitacre of Trinity, AL, Annie (Victor) Rodrigues of Tullahoma, Bobby (Penny) Brady of Simpsonville, SC, Randy (Holly) Brady of Mt. Pleasant, Kenny (Rhonda) Brady of Santa Fe; brother: Bobby (Sylvia) Barnes of Somerville, AL; sisters: Hazel Adair of Lawrenceburg, Dot (Vance) Potts of Hohenwald; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law: Sarah Potts of Nashville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Elton Eugene Brady; brothers: James Barnes, Gene Barnes, Charles Barnes; and granddaughter: Laura Brady.
Pallbearers will be: Ed Simmons, Bill Rodrigues, Derrick Brady, David Brady, Stephen Brady, Darrell Brady, and Christopher Brady.
