Emmett Reed

April 19, 1944 - February 9, 2016

Mr. Emmett Kelton Reed, age 71, husband of Brenda Reed, and a resident of Hohenwald, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 19, 1944 in Huntland, TN, Emmett was the son of the late Earl F. Reed and the late Ruby K. Hall Reed. He served his country in the United States Army and attended First Baptist Church in Hohenwald. Emmett married Brenda Harlow on April 22, 1966. He was a local business man for many years, and he enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Tammy (Brad) Pace of Hohenwald; brothers: Earl Kenneth Reed of Hohenwald, Eddie K. Reed of Hohenwald; sister: Lavonne McCalip of Hohenwald; grandson: Britton (Chelsea) Collins of Columbia; great-grandchild: Madilyn Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Frances Morich.
