Rodney Dale Leath

June 22, 1956 - January 30, 2016

Mr. Rodney Dale Leath, age 59, husband of Rebecca Melton Leath, and a resident of Brookhaven Drive in Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, January 30, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Lyndall Propst officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Love in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 22, 1956 in Pineville, Kentucky, Rodney was the son of Margaret McCoy Shepherd and the late Ray Dale Leath. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and worked as a truck driver. Rodney lived life to the fullest and got along with everybody. He was a loving person with a big heart who would stop what he was doing to help anyone who needed it. Rodney enjoyed fishing and spending time on his house boat on the lake.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Leath of 38 years; mother: Margaret McCoy Shepherd; daughter: Amy Melton of Columbia; sister: Linda (Ron) McIntosh of Peebles, Ohio; and niece: Shannon Wichterman of Blanchester, Ohio.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
