Doris Ann Scroggins Martin, wife of Lillard Butch Martin, a resident of Culleoka, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ledbetter and Pastor Carol Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Doris was the daughter of the late Enos Mitchell Scroggins and the late Georgia Leana (Mosley) Scroggins. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Doris lived a long life, but she stayed young forever. She worked at Weather Tamer and also ran her own cleaning business out of Nashville. Doris and her husband owned Country Vittles restaurant in Santa Fe. She was most recently employed as the activity assistant director at Life Care Center for several years.

In addition to her husband, Lillard of 43 years, she is survived by her sons: Kerry (Janice) Pruitt, David (Lisa) Pruitt, Gary (Tammy) Pruitt; daughters: Christy (Tommy) Lawwell, Kelly (Chris) Holcomb; brothers: Jerry (Joyce) Scroggins, Troy (Bobbie) Scroggins; sisters: Betty (Arnold) Pruitt, Becky (Howard) Height; grandchildren: Jimmy, Mitchell, and Jason Pruitt, Sarina Szablewski, Joshua, Katie Pruitt, Devin, Catrena Lawwell, Ben, Nathan, Zach Pruitt, Sean, Sierra, and Kendall Holcomb; step-grandchildren: A.J. and Michael Greene; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: Jimmy Darryl Pruitt and Timmy Pruitt; brothers: Albert Scroggins, Enos Scroggins; sisters: Mary Newcomber, Maudie Mae Scroggins, Flora Mae Scroggins; great-grandson: Layton Coggin; and her first husband: Jimmy Pruitt.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
