Mr. Charlie Frank Kelley, age 80, a resident of Booker Farm Road in Hampshire, passed away on Friday morning, January 15, 2016 at his residence with his family at his side.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Hardison Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 1, 1935 in Maury County, Charlie was the son of the late Herman Kelley and the late Hattie Dale Kelley. He was a hard worker who worked several different jobs in his life time including: Norton and Steely Grocery, Columbia Motor Express, and Consolidated Freightways. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 840. Above everything else, he loved his family, especially his granddaughter and great-granddaughters.

He is survived by his son: Charles Mike (Rene) Kelley of Hampshire; daughter: Debbie (Terry) Shelby of Hampshire; sisters: Ann (Carlyle) Barefoot of Columbia, Sarah Blackman of Charleston, SC; granddaughter: Terri Lynn (Jason) Bizwell of Spring Hill; step-grandson: Kevin Watson; great-grandchildren: Ansley Bizwell, Emily Watson; brother-in-law: Steve Blackman of Charleston, SC; sisters-in-law: Ina Fitzgerald of Columbia, Virginia Roberson of Rally Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years: Mai Fitzgerald Kelley; brothers-in-law: Billy Fitzgerald, Henry Fitzgerald, Bob Chaney, Bill Roberson, David Lovett, Doc Beard; sisters-in-law: Maude Lovett, Madeline Beard, Martha Fitzgerald; and nephew: Ray Fitzgerald.

Pallbearers will be: Bret Herrmann, Millard Dale, Barney Wright, Brian Fitzgerald, Tracy Roberson, and Walter Lovett.

Honorary pallbearers will be: John Roberson, Chris Lovett, Eddie Beard, Jim Chaney, Denise Lovett, Amy Cluver, Crystal Blackman, Owen Dale, Johnna Watson, William Brown, Ruby Mangrum, Robbie Kelley, and members of Teamsters Local 840.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ben High and his office staff for the care and compassion they showed to Mr. Kelley.
