Danny L. Walters

January 28, 1955 - January 11, 2016

Mr. Danny L. Walters, age 60, passed away into his heavenly home on Monday, January 11, 2016 at his home in Hampshire.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Polk Memorial Gardens with Mike Gillstrap officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 28, 1955 in Lawrence County, Danny was the son of the late Ross Walters and the late Maudie Cotton Walters. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He loved fishing, boating, and spending time at his place at the Tennessee River. He never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed it. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for anybody, it didn’t matter who they were. Danny was a loving father and husband, and his grandchildren were his life. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and his friends.

In addition to his wife, Kaye of 34 years, he is survived by his daughter: Nichole (Don) McClain of Hampshire; brothers: Kenneth (Darlene) Walters of Mt. Pleasant, Billy (Dorothy) Walters of Lawrenceburg; sister: Glenda (Howard) Garland of Columbia; twin grandchildren: Gavin and Ella Roberts; triplet grandchildren: John, Noah, and Zoey McClain; sister-in-law: Linda Knowles; special nephews: Bill Walters, Mike (Christina) Knowles; great-nephew: Zachary Knowles; special friends: Linda Perry, Darrell Potts, Haville Himes; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Onnie Walters, and sister: Bonnie Garland.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Walters, Darrell Potts, Haville Himes, Mike Knowles, Josh Himes, Phillip Griffith, Don McClain, and Maurice Leach.
