George Baugh, Jr.

October 11, 1949 - January 7, 2016

Mr. George Baugh, Jr., age 66, a resident of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at his residence.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Brandon Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state Monday, January 11 from 10:00 Am till 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 11, 1949 in Spring Hill, George was the son of the late George Thomas Baugh, Sr. and the late Hattie Mae McKissack. He periodically attended Locust Ridge Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his loving companion: Mary Ann Pointer of Franklin; sons: Marcus (Millie) Baugh of Lewisburg, George T. Baugh III of Lawrenceburg; daughters: Fuleisa O’Neal of Lewisburg, Melissa Baugh of Mt. Pleasant, Devona Baugh of Franklin; brothers: James McKissack of Spring Hill and Saint Clair Baugh of Indianapolis, IN; sisters: Georgia Mae Baugh Harris of Franklin, Roberta Mitchell of Spring Hill; aunt: Esterlene McKissack; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Dorothy McKissack.

Pallbearers will be: Charles Chrismon, David Haddox, Reginald Puckett, Akiva McKissack, James Baugh, and Gary O’Neal.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Tony Driver, Rudy Chrismon, Howard Fitzgerald, Lewis Gaines, Sam Davis and James Carl Davis.
