William “Bill” Wesley Allen, age 75, a resident of Chapel Hill, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Marshall Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 10th at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Nolensville Cemetery in Nolensville. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, January 9th from 4-8pm, and again on Sunday from 10am until the 2pm service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bill was born July 17, 1940 in Davidson County and was the son of the late Emmett Allen and the late Katherine Simpson Allen. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Nashville. He retired from Williamson County Animal Control after 25years of service. He was a previous employer of the Railway Express Agency, and also delivered the Tennessean newspaper. He had a passion for horses, and enjoyed fishing. He will be remembered by his friends, neighbors, and family as being the best helper. He always had a lending hand waiting to help anyone. Above all, Bill was a family man that loved them very much, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by his sons: Robert (Rhonda) Allen of Rally Hill, TN and Jeffrey Allen of Richmond, IN; daughters: Beverly (Randy) Slaughter of Lewisburg, TN and Tammy Allen of Franklin; sisters: Carolyn (Ronald) Davis of Nashville, TN and Annette (Larry) Crim of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Randy “Bo” Slaughter, Christopher Allen, Will Allen, Ashley Chapman, Olivia Allen, and Anastasia Young; several great grandchildren; step daughters: Betty (Tommy) Reed of Franklin, TN, Patricia (JoJo) Sawyer of Chapel Hill, TN, and Cindy Sullivan of Antioch, TN; step grandsons: Ted Traffanstedt, Elayne Reed Welck, Keri Reed, Benjamin Reed, Wayne Mangrum, Lisa Mangrum, Misty Quintanar, Joey Mangrum, Kenny Walker, Bobby Walker, Steven Walker, Jason Gregg, and Jamie Gregg.
Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his son: Christopher Allen; grandson: Brad Slaughter; step daughter: Sharon Mangrum; step son: James Walker.
Pallbearers will be Jason Gregg, John Chapman, Will Allen, Christopher Allen, Matt Hargrove, Doug Hargrove, Preston Crim, Larry Crim, and Ted Trafansted. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Slaughter, Leonard Stephens, Tim “Flag” Smith, Wayne Mangrum, Cole Bowen, and his friends and neighbors of Caney Springs.
