Marshall Davidson

August 1, 1947 - January 2, 2016

Marshall “Papa” Davidson, age 68, and a resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Kerry James officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 1, 1947 in Columbia, Marshall was the son of the late Henry Washington Davidson and the late Rosie Lee Perry Davidson. He served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and was a devoted member of Potters House Missionary Baptist Church. He was a longtime employer of Dr. Fitts.

He is survived by his son: James Lee Davidson of Kokomo, IN; daughters: Tracy Cothron of Pulaski, TN, Melanie Blair of Columbia, TN; sister: Mary Davidson of Richmond, VA; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; very special friend: Cherry Blair; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews, and nieces will serve as flower girls.
