John Wesley Wilkins

May 11, 1936 - December 29, 2015

Mr. John Wesley Wilkins, age 79, husband of Carole Wilkins, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on May 11, 1936 in Englewood, TN, John was the son of the late Charles Wilkins and the late Edith Robinson Wilkins. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a manager for Lucent Technologies at AT&T. John was a Jehovah’s Witness and was a member of Columbia South Kingdom Hall. He loved to travel, especially to Mexico. John dearly loved his family and his dogs, Lola and Toby. He also enjoyed fishing and often restored old fans.

He is survived by his wife: Carole Wilkins of Columbia; daughters: Valerie Elaine (Tommy) Bohannon of Athens, TN, Charlene Yvonne (Dennis) Vance of Etowah, TN; sister: Louise (Arlin) Sneed of Chattanooga; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
