Cynthia "Cindy" Kay Burgess

June 17, 1962 - December 29, 2015

Cindy Winn Burgess, age 53, wife of Ronald Burgess, and a resident of the Sawdust Community on Williamsport Pike in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Williamsport Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Rick Points officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Born on June 17, 1962 in Maury County, Cindy was the daughter of Mary R. Winn and the late Boyd Thomas Winn. She was employed with the Maury County Schools Transportation as a bus driver. Cindy was a proud member of Williamsport Baptist Church. She was a huge dirt track racing fan and also loved camping and going to Florida with her family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Ron, who she adored very much. Her kids were her life, and above anything else, she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Ronald Burgess of 19 years, she is survived by her mother: Mary Winn; sons: Ron (Angela) Burgess, Michael (Melissa) Burgess, Joseph (Leslie) Foster, Stevie (Jessica) Kelley, Dale Burgess, Christian Burgess; daughters: Brooklyn Burgess and Sarah Burgess; brother: Tommy (Sandra) Winn; sisters: Carolyn (Boyce) Ardry, Kay (Mark) Howard, and Terri Winn (Mike Rowland); six grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Borland, Alan Lancaster, Joshua Winn, Robby Ardry, Terry Prince, Carolyn Ardry, Terri Winn, and Jennifer Ardry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Johnson, Mike Rowland, Mark Howard, Shannon Ardry, J.D. Ardry, Bill & Margie Ardry, Justin Howard, Tony Howard, Kaila Ardry, Steve Ardry, her bus driving friends, and the members of Williamsport Baptist Church.
