Constance “Connie” Swafford, age 61, wife of Reid Swafford, Jr. and a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 29th at 6pm at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday from 2pm until the 6pm service at the funeral home. There will be a graveside service held on Wednesday, December 30th at 2pm eastern time at Hounchell Bend Road Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Connie was born June 11, 1954 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Isaiah Hacker and the late Georgia Cole Hacker. She graduated from Clay County High School in Manchester, Kentucky. She married the love of her life, Reid Swafford, Jr. on November 23, 1974. She was a seamstress for many years, working at Pigg and Parson’s Clothing Store and Alderson’s Cleaners. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, camping, and shopping. She also loved going to the beach. Connie was a lady that treasured spending time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Along with her husband, Reid Swafford, Jr. of Columbia, she is survived by her daughters: Melissa Kaye (Michael) Lester, Jr. of Columbia, Tara Joyce (Chad) Fore of Guntersville, AL, and Amanda Gail (Wesley) Derryberry of Columbia; sisters: Sharon (Danny) Finley of Manchester, KY and Cathy Hurley of Cincinnati, OH; brother: Hargis Hacker of Somerset, KY; grandchildren: Michael Reid Lester, Abigail Derryberry, Gabrielle Derryberry, Evan Fore, Coen Fore, and Khi Cozart.

Along with her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Spurlock, and her brothers, Allen “Chic” Hacker and Dave Hacker.
