Josie Marie Schmidt, age 18, a resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Gary Fewell officiating. Burial will follow in Sparkman Cemetery in the Boston Community of Williamson County. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and again from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 1, 1997 in Williamson County, Josie was the daughter of Jonathan P. Schmidt and Cindy King. She was a big hearted, beautiful person inside and out who would do anything for anybody. She loved animals and being outdoors. She and her mother had a special spot at Chickasaw Trace where they loved to go and spend time together. Josie loved spending time with her cousins and all of her family and friends. She was a special angel and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters: Gracie Fewell of Columbia, McKenzie Schmidt of Spring Hill; maternal grandparents: Joe & Joanne King of Columbia; maternal great-grandmother: Lucille Peters of Columbia; paternal grandmother: Glenda King of Franklin; paternal grandparents: John & Susan Schmidt of Franklin; paternal great-grandfather: Robert Schmidt of Franklin; paternal great-grandmother: Elois Stephens of Franklin; paternal great-grandmother: Ruth Cowan of Navarre, FL; aunts: Jessica (Eddie) Maynard of Columbia, Kelly King of Murfreesboro; uncles: Chad (Jessica) King of Santa Fe, Stephen King of Murfreesboro; special love: Jerred Eddleman of Columbia; special friend: Kelsey Ragsdale of Columbia; and many other beloved family and friends.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Maury County Animal Shelter: 1233 Mapleash Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.
