Ricky Leon Scott

August 1, 1957 - December 10, 2015

Ricky Leon Scott, age 58, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 12th at 10am at Heritage Funeral Home with memories shared by family and friends. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 9am until the service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ricky was a Maury County native and was the son of the late Elmer Scott and the late Elise Massey Scott. Gardening was his main goal. He loved growing plants and flowers. One of his most recent accomplishments was becoming an ordained minister. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Tabitha Scott of Kansasville, WI and her children, Andrew and Jaime; son: Jeremy Layne of Houston, TX; also his beloved cat, Usher.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: William, Doug, Claude, Wayne, and W.M.; sisters: Bobbie and Thelma Ruth.

The family wanted to express a special thanks to the Maury Regional Cancer Center, Lou Ann Hall, Julie Thomas, Judy Chapman, and Suzie Stewart for their outstanding care and love for Ricky.
