Mr. Willard Edwin Hughes, age 39, husband of Jennifer M. Hughes, and a resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away Saturday morning, December 5, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Meadowview Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Jimmy Nave officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the church. Fellowship will follow the service at 3:00 PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 2, 1976 in Lawrenceburg, Willard was the son of Martha Lee Harris Maxwell and the late James Edward Hughes. He worked as a van driver for Lawrence County Public Transportation and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church. Willard often enjoyed horseback riding, baking, and playing basketball with his nephews and son. He was also a fan of wrestling, but above anything else, Willard loved being with his family.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son: Jesse Allen (Bethany) Bradley; daughter: Heather Bradley (John) Harlan; brother: James Robert Hughes; sisters: Claudia Renay (Jose) Fernandez, Deonna Brucesanta Hughes; grandchildren: Reggie Reynolds, Haylie Mattox, Kyra Reynolds, Baylynn Weigart, Damian Harlan, Freya Bradley; and sisters-in-law: Lisa (Chuck) Blanton and Sabrina (Bud) Ray.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brother: Bart Hughes Maxwell, and sister-in-law: Glenda Benson Hughes.
