Kenneth Wayne Gowen, age 51, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at NHC Columbia.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 11am in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday, November 27th from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born in Maury County, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charles Oscar Gowan and Doris Young King. He was a member of the Destiny Church, and was employed by Mid State Roofing. Being an avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also liked to watch football and nascar. Most of all, he loved dirt bike riding. His brother has many memories riding bikes on the open trails and back roads with Kenneth.

Along with his mother, Doris (Roger) King, he is survived by his brother: William Lee (Gina) Young of Columbia; niece: Brittany Jon Stein; great niece: Chesney Hope Stein; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Tim Morton, Johnson Cozart, Justin Gillam, W.C. Young, Jerry Beard, Tony Hinson, Billy Morris Young, and Jerry Wright, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Thompson, David Riley, Gary Anderson, Booger Gene Smith, Rodney Hickman, The EBGB motorcycle club of Columbia, Dr. Cobb, Dr. Bali, and Dr. Goldsmith.

The family would like to express a special thanks to an extraordinary aunt, Kathy Gillum, for all of her love and support through this difficult time.
