Mr. Billy Joe Dunn, age 71, husband of Ruby Hill Dunn, and a resident of Sunset Lane in Columbia, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Steve Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, Billy was born on January 10, 1944 and was the son of the late Joseph Raymond Dunn and the late Lizzie Mae McGaw Dunn. He was a member of Greenfield Bend Church of Christ in Williamsport and worked the majority of his life as a farmer. When he was no longer able to farm, he worked as a truck driver for over 30 years. Billy enjoyed fishing and watching TV. He also loved playing with his puppy, Suzie. He is survived by his wife: Ruby Dunn Hill of Columbia; daughter: Betty Dunn of Columbia; special sister-in-law: Faye Bell of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Billy's family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
