Cynthia Gayle Knox, age 67, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 at Life Care Center of Columbia. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Allen Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on December 5, 1947 in Davidson County, Cynthia was the daughter of the late James Laurn Knox and the late Mary Belle Rucker Knox (Donald Eugene) Nichols. She worked many years for Goodwill in Nashville and Columbia as well as for Aramark in Nashville for nearly 10 years. Cynthia was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church and singing. She loved going to senior citizens dinners and bingo. Cynthia also liked going bowling. She is survived by her sister: Marcia (Ronald) Kelley of Columbia; nephew: Michael Eugene Whittington of Columbia; step-nephew: David Kelley of Columbia; and a host of cousins. She was preceded in death by her father: James Laurn Knox; mother: Mary Belle Rucker Knox Nichols; and stepfather: Donald Eugene Nichols.
