Audrey M. Howell

April 21, 1931 - October 19, 2015

Mrs. Audrey Morse Howell, age 84, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday morning, October 19, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A memorial service for Audrey will be held at a later date at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Pompano Beach, Florida where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Audrey was born in New Haven, Connecticut on April 21, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Edwin Martyn Morse and the late Maude Jerusha Brown Morse. Her parents were Scottish so Audrey had brilliant bright red hair. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Sherman Howell in 1955 and supported him while he completed his B.S.E.E. Degree at Northeastern University in Boston. They had just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary before his passing in 2008. They spent the majority of their lives in Boca Raton, FL where Bob was employed with IBM. She also volunteered many years at the American Heart Association in New York. She loved to sew and did so many amazing things sewing, such as: making clothes, drapes, pillows, beach towels, comforters, and many other things. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and collecting angel figurines. Audrey had a good sense of humor. She always appreciated a good joke; playing one and receiving one. There is no better way to pay tribute to Audrey's memory, than to follow in her footsteps, follow her example, give to those less fortunate, support those in need of support, give a reassuring hug when needed, and above all; live life to the fullest and thank God for his many blessings. She is survived by her son: Mark (Jan) Howell of Milton, GA; grandchildren: Ryan Howell and Sarah Howell both of Cumming, GA; and son-in-law: Eddie Hines. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Linda Howell Hines; and brother: David Morse.
