Dorothy Luckett

Dorothy "Dot" Eloise Luckett, age 87, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday evening, October 11, 2015 at NHC Hillview. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Arlington Cemetery with Rick Points officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on February 11, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, Dot was the daughter of the late William Thomas Stills and the late Lilly Lorena Cocke Stills. She attended Haylong High School in Mt. Pleasant and was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker the majority of her life. Dot enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress. Dot dedicated 52 years to taking care of and raising her mentally challenged son until his passing. She is survived by her daughters: Sandra Daniel of Mt. Pleasant, Linda (Richard) Salisbury of Murfreesboro; brother: James Stills of Deerfield Beach, FL; and sister: Barbara Jones of Deerfield Beach, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Billy Luckett and her husband: Chalmer Luckett. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at NHC Hillview Nursing Home.
