Lauretta Poarch

Lauretta Lynn Poarch, age 58, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday morning, September 29, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation Center. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM with Dickey Lindsey officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on December 14, 1956 in Racine, WI, Lauretta was the daughter of the late Donald Brown and the late Eleanor Frances Platner Brown. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved God with all of her heart. Lauretta also loved writing poetry which she did often. She is survived by her son: Jerry (Linda) Poarch of MS; daughters: Melisha Ragsdale (Michael Bolton) of Columbia, Mary (Joshuia "Bobo") Ragsdale of AL; ten grandchildren: David Lee Ragsdale, Delayna Ragsdale, Ashton Ragsdale, Sara Ragsdale, Heather Ragsdale, Elizabeth Ragsdale, Virginia "Ginny" Ragsdale, Ethen Alexander Ragsdale, Hunter Poarch, and Jerry Poarch, Jr.; favorite nephew: Johnny "John" Poarch; step-niece: Rebecca Pierce; and close family friends: Roy Glass, Sr., Roy Glass, Jr., Tina Glass, Frances Glass, Michael "Mikie" Glass, Kenny Mullis, Mary Moss, Catherine "Cat" Phillips, and Thomas Pierce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her close family friends: James David Ragsdale and Belinda Glass.
