Nellie Hanson

Nellie Marie Hanson, age 100, a resident of Hohenwald, passed away Monday morning, September 7, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. The family will celebrate her life with a memorial service at Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM on September 19, 2015 with Don Jones officiating. Another memorial service will be held in LaCygne, Kansas on September 27, 2015. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Nellie was born on January 20, 1915 in Bogard, Missouri and was the daughter of the late Benjiman Frank Trusty and the late Lilly B. Merritt. She married Richard Newport on February 29, 1932, and on November 24, 1961 she married Jeff Hanson. Survivors include her daughter, Twanette Nickell of Hohenwald; her son, James Newport of LaCygne, Kansas; ten grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-great-grandchildren.
