Tresia D. McWhirter

April 12, 1939 - September 2, 2015

Tresia D. McWhirter, age 76, a resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at her residence. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 11 AM at First United Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg with Bro. David Lay officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 9AM until the 11AM service. The family will have a private burial in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Tresia was born April 12, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Roy Davis and Lela Mae Davis. She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1958. She went on to beauty school in Pulaski. Afterwards, Tresia worked as a beautician for over 40 years, owning First Lady Beauty Salon in Lawrenceburg. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church, and a leader in the UMYF. She also was a member of the Lions Club. Tresia enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She is survived by her daughters: Mia (Eddie) Schultz, Heather Slater (Byron Shelton), both of Ethridge; brother: Carl Davis of Lawrenceburg; sisters: Jane (Richard) Koelsch of Knoxville, Thelma Boyd, Velma Cothren, Mary Frances Chaffin, all of Lawrenceburg, and Marie Holguin of CA; grandchildren: Kameron Slater, Breanna Slater, and Rachel Washburn. Along with her parents, Tresia is preceded in death by her husband Jackie Lee "Buddy" McWhirter; brothers: Carl Belew and Wilson Belew; sisters: Imogene Robertson, Charlene Holt, and Pat Shelton.
