Lucy Lynn Waddell

Mrs. Lucy Lynn Waddell, age 83, wife of Robert Donald Waddell, and a resident of Columbia, arrived at heaven's bright shore on Saturday, August 29, 2015. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with John Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Fitzgerald Cemetery in Celina, TN. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on February 11, 1932 in Gainesboro, TN, Lucy was the daughter of the late Girstle Harley Lynn and the late Georgia Mae Flynn Lynn. She married Robert Donald Waddell on June 7, 1953. After marrying they moved to Cookeville where they resided until 1974. They then moved to Columbia where they have made their home for the past 41 years. Lucy was a member of Graymere Church of Christ where she served as a preschool teacher for many years. She was an extremely loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Robert, of 62 years, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her son: David (Cindy) Waddell of Brentwood; daughter: Debbie Waddell of Nashville; brothers: Russell (Peggy) Lynn of Palm Springs, CA, Jim (Carol) Lynn of Sparta, Joe (Karen) Lynn of Celina; sister: Helen (John) Fox of Gainesboro; grandchildren: Emily (Ryan) Edwards of Franklin, John (Ellen) Waddell of Nashville; and one great-grandchild: Houston Edwards. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Sam Lynn, Hamp Lynn, Girstle Lynn, Jr., Jack Lynn; and her sister: Virginia Dee Hall. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
