Cindy "MeMe" Putnam

Mrs. Cindy "MeMe" Putnam, age 58, wife of Phillip Putnam, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Terry Peery officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 12:00 - 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on July 18, 1957, in Hillsdale, Michigan, Cindy was the daughter of the late John Franklin Truitt and the late Maxine L. Leonard Wilkes. Cindy married Phillip Putnam on May 14, 1977. Cindy was raised in Michigan, but in June of 1996, she and her husband relocated to Tennessee, making it their home for the past 19 years. For seven years, she worked for Express Courier at Maury Regional Medical Center and Family Health Group. Cindy enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling, and being outdoors. She often enjoyed watching her grandson race at the local dirt track. She was a caring, happy-go-lucky person who loved helping people and always had a smile on her face. Cindy loved her grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter, Kenley, was her pride and joy. In addition to her husband, Phillip, she is survived by her daughter: Donna Collins (Elias Houck) of Columbia; brother: Ronald (Linda) Truitt of Moscow, MI; sisters: Sandy (George) Gritzmaker of Clayton, MI, Marilyn (Denny) Johnson of Quincy, MI; grandchildren: Derek Reynolds, Katelynn Reynolds, Austin Reynolds all of Columbia; very special great-granddaughter: Kenley Reynolds of Columbia; brother-in-law: Estle Landis of Coldwater, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Art Leonard, Vicki Landis, Donald Truitt, and Ken Truitt. Pallbearers will be Andy Davis, Joe Davis, Lucas Davis, Gerry Scott, Jay Burns, and Derek Reynolds.
