Mr. Lewis Hardy, age 72, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday morning, July 23, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Ledbetter officiating. A Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps. A Masonic service will be held immediately following the visitation. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born June 4, 1943 in Manchester, Kentucky, Lewis was the son of Florence Henson Hardy and the late Tom Hardy. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years and was a member of the Masonic Benjamin Franklin Lodge No. 0719 in Hamilton, OH since 1972. He was also employed as an operation technician for General Motors and the Saturn Corporation for many years until he retired in 1997. Lewis married the love of his life, Margie Ann, in 1962 and was a very dedicated husband who cared for her for many years until she passed in 2006. In addition to his mother, Lewis is survived by his Children: Joe (Jennifer) Hardy of Columbia, MaLeah (Andrew) Rogers of Fairfield, OH; Brothers: Thomas Hardy, Jr. of Hamilton, OH and William (Gayle) Hardy of Hamilton, OH; Sisters: Eunice (Alonzo) Wagers of Clearwater, FL and Mallie Joy (Houston Dale) Gray of Belleair Bluffs, FL; Three Grandchildren; Five Great-Grandchildren; long time friend: Ernie Payne; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Along with his father and wife, he was preceded in death by his Sister: Thelma Smith and Brother-In-Law: Angelo Smith. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
