Mrs. Regina Maria McQueen, age 83, loving wife of Lonnie McQueen, and a resident of Ouida Lane in Columbia, passed away Thursday morning, July 16, 2015 at her residence. An inurnment will be held in Lindsay Cemetery in California at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on July 23, 1931 in New York City, Regina was the daughter of the late Bernard McGrane and the late Isabelle Williams Karns. She married Lonnie McQueen in June of 1949. She earned her Bachelor's Degree at California State University at Fullerton. She was an anthropologist who also worked as a secretary for many years within the Long Beach School District and Saddleback Community College in California. She was active in the Mynders Family and Community Education Club and loved researching and studying rocks. Regina also enjoyed computers. In addition to her husband, Lonnie, of 66 years, she is survived by her sister: Neita (Mark) Montague of Nevada; niece: Regina McClure of Bonsall, CA; and nephews: Michael McClure of Lindsay, CA, and Scott McClure of Tuscan, AZ. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Marguerite McClure.
