Joyce Ray Belt

March 11, 1931 - July 14, 2015

Mrs. Joyce Belt, age 84, wife of Robert "Bob" Belt, and a resident of Columbia, passed away July 14, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 17 at 11 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Dawson and Rev. Billy Kimbrough officiating. Burial will follow in The Garden of Promise at Maury Memorial Gardens, located adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born in Robertson County, TN, Joyce was the daughter of the late Rayburn and Louise England. She married the love of her life, Bob, in 1949 and they enjoyed every precious moment of 66 years together. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Columbia and attended many church activities while being a proud member of the senior group. Joyce was also a bookkeeper for a CPA for twenty years. Prior to bookkeeping, she owned a Western Square Dance Apparel store in Columbia. Many years ago, Joyce and her husband were active in western square dancing and were recognized by receiving the "furthest from home" award at the Frontier Days Square Dance Club in Cheyenne, WY. She enjoyed creative writing while writing her own autobiography, publishing it for her family. Joyce also liked selling Home Interior Products and helping people with interior designing. She often enjoyed spending her down time at the beach. Above all of her accomplishments, her biggest one was the love she had for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by; Children: Pamela Belt of Columbia, Michael (Janet) Belt of Columbia, Stephanie (Eddie) Allred of Culleoka, and John Mark (Janice) Belt of Pulaski; Brother: Stanley (Judy) England of Springfield, TN; Sister: Annetta Scott of Palm Bay, FL; Grandchildren: Randy Thompson and Brian (Rachel) Allred, both of Culleoka, Benjamin (Tiffany) Thompson of Lafayette, LA, David (Holly) Belt and Brent (Carmen) Allred, both of Spring Hill, Kim (Derek) Rosa of Columbia, and Andrew Belt of Martin, TN; as well as eleven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: Andrew Belt, Brent Allred, Brian Allred, Randy Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, David Belt, and Derek Rosa.
