Mr. Morris Dugger, age 70, husband of Dorothy Dugger, and a resident of Summertown, passed away Friday morning, July 10, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 12th at 2PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, July 11th from 4-8PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Dugger was born in Maury County, Tennessee and was the son of the late Walter and Zettie Dugger. He was a truck driver for 40 years for various contractors in Maury County including Smith and Attkisson, Harris Trucking, McCandless, and several others. He attended Whispering Hills Free Will Church of God in Summertown. He served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets, collecting antiques. He loved just talking with people and sitting around listening to the jukebox. Along with his wife Dorothy Cranford Dugger, he is survived by his son, Danny Dugger of Columbia; daughters: Sherry (Guy) Hall of Columbia, Nancy (Don) Terry of Santa Fe, and step-daughter, Gina (Scott) Peterson of Columbia; brother: Loyd Dugger of Columbia; sisters: Sharmin Rowlett of Nashville and Peggy (Royce) Davenport of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Morris is preceded in death by his son, Benny Dugger; step-son, Clifford Hodge; three brothers and six sisters. Pallbearers will be Walter Dugger, Shane Morton, Steve Morton, Cody Dugger, Scott Peterson, and Kevin King.
