Lucas Brendan Golden, 6 year old son of Matt and Jessica Golden of Culleoka, TN went to be with Jesus on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 2:00PM at Culleoka School gymnasium with his Daddy Matt, Papa Terry Golden, Uncle Jerry Golden, and Bro. Rick Abels officiating. Burial will follow at Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville, TN. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home as well as Thursday one hour prior to the service from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Culleoka School. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on October 20, 2008 in Maury County, Lucas was the son of Matthew Scott and Jessica Nellie Golden. He was a member of Living Word Community Church of God in Lewisburg. He attended Joseph Brown Elementary as a pre-kindergarten student, looking forward to going to Kindergarten at Culleoka School. Lucas enjoyed being outside whether it was playing in the mud with his trucks, playing basketball in the driveway with his dad, riding his four-wheeler and dirt bike, playing with his cousin Blake, or camping with Blake and his Papa. He worried about his family's well-being and always greeted them with a hug. He was a big Spongebob fan, and he especially loved his truck and power wheels. Lucas's favorite treat was a big juicy slice of watermelon. He was a night owl who enjoyed staying up late with his Mom. He spent hours playing on the trampoline with his sister, Savannah. You could often find Lucas picking on his sisters or teaching his sister, Mattalyn, how to drive her jeep, pulling her out of holes when she got stuck. He loved going on adventures with Grandma and the rest of his family. Lucas achieved his dream of being a super hero by fighting his nemesis with great strength, determination, courage, and love. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters: Savannah Hacker and Mattalyn Golden both of Culleoka; paternal grandparents: Terry (Brenda "Nemo") Golden of Lewisburg; maternal grandparents: Brenda Johnson of Culleoka, Steve Hacker of Michigan; paternal great-grandmother: Alice Golden of Mt. Pleasant; maternal great-grandparents: Jack (Arvilla) Hacker of Michigan; uncles: TJ (Stephanie) Golden of Spring Hill, Jacob Hacker of Smyrna; aunts: Lori (Kevin) Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant, Tiffany (Chad) Earl of Culleoka, Angela Hacker of Lynnville, Katie Hacker of Columbia; cousins: Josh (Leslee) Golden, Brittany Kennedy, Paige Golden, Blake Kennedy, Halle Golden, Aniston Golden, Brantley Golden, Kali Earl, Benjamin Earl, McLaren Reed; several great-aunts and uncles; and a very special friend: Carsen Stapish. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents: Richard & Lucretia Johnson; paternal great-grandfather: Ruben Thomas "Tommy" Golden; paternal great-grandparents: Homer & Alice Estes. Pallbearers will be Kevin Kennedy, TJ Golden, Jacob Hacker, Matthew Golden, Josh Golden, Blake Kennedy, Chad Earl, and Terry Golden. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Team Lucas friends.
