William Larry Hill, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 7pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be held on Friday, May 29th at 10am at Cross Bridges Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4pm until the 7pm service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. William was born on August 4, 1944 in Maury County and was the son of the late Ulna W. and Luvice Lucille Jarrett Hill and the husband of the late Gwendolyn Mae Brock Hill. He graduated from Hampshire High School and worked as a material handler for the Smeltner Services for 21 years. He was a member of the Cross Bridges Baptist Church. William enjoyed collecting NASCAR, doing yard work and wood work. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a beloved daughter: Angie (Wayne) Street of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a brother: Lee (Carolyn) Hill of Williamsport; grandchildren: Preston Crigger, Amy Crigger and Wayne Lee (Leann) Street; great grandchild: Gavin Lee Street. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother: James Hill. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers at Smelter Services.
