Mr. Kenneth Wade Owens, age 54, husband of Celia Owens, and a resident of Culleoka, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with his uncle, William Owens, officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, Kenneth was born on July 4, 1960 and was the son of Shelby Jean Pope Owens and the late Robert Lewis Owens. He was a 1978 graduate of Culleoka High School. Kenneth was a perfectionist, working for over twenty years laying tile and was well known as "The Tile Man." He was an avid UT Vols fan. Kenneth found great joy in his grandsons who were his pride and joy. Kenneth is survived by his wife of nearly 34 years, Celia Ann Owens; mother: Shelby Jean Owens of Culleoka; daughter: Cassie (Brent) McCandless of Lynnville; grandsons: Jackson McCandless and Cayden McCandless; brother: Dennis (Wanda) Owens of Columbia; sister: Beverly (Bobby) Tennyson of Culleoka; father and mother-in-law: Clovis & Betty Foster of Culleoka; sister-in-law: Caroline McNeese of Pulaski; brother-in-law: Skip (Tracey) Foster of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Robert Lewis Owens; son: Clint Allen Owens; and grandparents: Frank & Cordie Pope and William & Daisy Owens. Pallbearers will be Brent McCandless, Justin McNeese, Brian Owens, Skip Foster, David Fitzgerald, Danny Auville, Randy McBroom, and Billy Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Culleoka High School Class of 1978, the staff at NHC Homecare, Dr. Andrew Sisk, Sarah Fitzgerald, Tim & Wanda Clark, Robert Whitley, Ray Rummage, and a host of friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Maury Regional Medical Center EMS, and the Maury Regional Medical Center 2nd Floor ICU staff.
