Mary Criger

Mary Jane Criger, age 88, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. The family will celebrate her life with services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on January 13, 1927 in Rochester, New York, Mary was the daughter of the late Leslie and Pauline McMurray. She attended Christian Central Church, and she enjoyed going there. She also enjoyed going on rides to Centerville and Lewisburg as well as visiting the Senior Center. Mary loved shopping, doing puzzles, and playing cards. She is survived by her daughters: Tonja Schallock of California, Valerie Pisani of Columbia; three grandsons; four granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; very special friends: Jodi McQuary, Syvia Arnold, and Rose Funk; and her black cat: Andrea. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Gene Prochnau.
