Joy Faye Millage, age 51, a resident of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 5pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bob Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, April 9th from 3pm-8pm at the funeral home. The family will also visit with friends on Saturday from 3pm until the 5pm service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Joy was born March 31, 1964 in Columbia, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Les Blackburn and Mary Davis Blackburn. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Birmingham, Alabama. She went on to serve our country in the United States Navy. Joy had a passion for frogs, collecting all kinds of them. She also enjoyed country music, with her favorite being Willie Nelson. Some of her other hobbies included collecting antiques, playing computer games, and being on Facebook. Joy worked as a cook in the cafeteria for GM for 9years. She met and became best friends with her husband Donald, whom she lovingly referred to as "DL" in 1999. They got married in 2003 and had one of the best marriages anyone could imagine. It was said by "DL" that they never had an argument. Above all, Joy was a family oriented lady that loved being "Grammie" to all of her grandchildren. She admired all of the grandkids and they were the light of her life. She will be missed by all. Joy is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Donald "DL" Millage; son: Daniel (Marie) Millage of Austin, TX; daughters: Crystal Millage of Columbia, Patricia Ferguson of Santa Fe, and Michelle (TJ) Brassfield of Lawrenceburg; brothers: Ronnie (Barbara) Blackburn of Santa Fe and Tab (Beckie) Blackburn of Summertown; sister: Vickie Pruitt of Columbia; grandchildren: Taylor Jones of Smyrna, Aubree Smithson of Santa Fe, Arianna Brassfield and Emma Brassfield, both of Lawrenceburg; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her grandparents. Pallbearers will be Daniel Millage, Kenny Davis, TJ Brassfield, Patrick Smithson, Mike Long, Jenny Allen, and Jimmy Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Bagwell and James Secrest.
