Marge was born on December 21, 1936 to the late Steven Joseph Lasky and Mildred Louise Valentine Lasky in St. Louis, MO. At a young age, Marge served her country in the United States Marine Corps and later worked as Printing Control Officer at the U.S. Infantry School in Columbus, GA. After moving to Columbia, TN, she went back to school on the GI Bill and obtained her Registered Nurse degree. After obtaining experience at hospitals and as an administrator of nursing homes, she opened and operated the first non-profit home health agency in Middle Tennessee: Maury Home Health. With her vast experience, she became a pioneer in the home health industry and spent her later career traveling over a three state area, teaching home health nurses. Her accomplishments and activities included: 1991 BPW Woman of The Year; Chairman of the Tennessee Association of Home Care Ethics Committee; Legislative Committee; Vice President of Middle Tennessee Home Care Council; Maury County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and Ambassador of the Month; Columbia State Community College Guest Lecturer; Tennessee South Central Ombudsman for Long Term Care; American Cancer Society; Hospice Association; 1995 White House Conference on Aging; Who's Who of American Women 1991; Volunteer for Maury County Senior Citizens. She also authored various articles for professional journals. With her first priority of raising two children, Marge also found time to be a chaperone for the Central High School Band, PTA, and Den Mother for the Cub Scouts of America. She also served her as a Sunday School Teacher and leader of the Young Methodists at Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. A natural athlete, Marge played basketball for the Marine Corps Women's Team, life guard for the Marine Corps Dependents Pool, and cheerleader for the Parris Island, SC Marine Corps football team. She was also an expert marksman, having earned "Sharpshooter" designation with the Women's Rifle Team. As a youth, she won the distinct honor of playing first violin in the Detroit Junior Philharmonic Orchestra, performed modern dances for the USO and March of Dimes shows, and acted in high school plays. After retirement, she used her time to do various volunteer work and travel. She once said she was working harder retired than she did when she was working. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her productive and fruitful life and she has left behind a legacy of love and acceptance to all. She will be missed by many whose lives she touched. She leaves behind her son, Michael Joe (Rhonda) Langford of Murfreesboro, daughter: Lesek Langford Bellamy of Memphis; three grandsons: Matthew Bellamy, Joshua Bellamy, and Blake Langford and special friend, Susan MacIntosh. Pallbearers include her grandsons and friends with honorary pallbearers being members of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church, members of the Mule Town Marine Corps League, and Maury County Senior Citizens.
