Wayne Crain, age 72, husband of Shirley Crain, and a resident of Culleoka, passed away unexpectedly in Linden, TN on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Perry Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27th at 2pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Eternity in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to the funeral home. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, March 26th from 3-7pm at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on August 3, 1942 in Boyd County, Kentucky, Wayne was the son of the late John and Pearl Whitt Crain. He attended Parkway Baptist Church and previously worked as a truck driver. He worked many years transporting mobile homes for Keith Baker Homes and other mobile home companies. Wayne's family described him as being a loving man who loved to talk, whether he was telling you a story or picking on you. He loved his children and grandchildren. Wayne's grandkids even gave him a nickname, "Crazy Wayne." Wayne enjoyed cars as well as being on the river, but most of all he loved his family and will be deeply missed. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53years, Shirley Graff Crain, daughters: Rebecca Crain of Linden, Tammy (Jerry) Tuttle of Culleoka, Julie (Gene) Hight of Columbia, and Malinda England of Culleoka; brothers: Sam (Nicki) Crain of Florida, Donnie Crain of Florida, Billy Crain of Michigan; sister: Lois Conn of Michigan; grandchildren: Tyler (Kanya) Crain of Centerville, Tate Crain of Centerville, Matthew Hight of Columbia, John Hight of Columbia, Triston Jenkins of Lynnville, Stacey Lewis of Culleoka, Kevin Tuttle of Nashville; nephew: Jerry Layne of Linden; and twenty-eight other nieces and nephews. Along with Wayne's parents, he is preceded in death by a son: Dwayne Crain, brothers: Charles Crain, Homer Crain, and Johnny Crain; sisters: Dorothy Layne, Thelma Carter, Marie Laginess, and Joyce Reimer. Pallbearers will be Tyler Crain, Tate Crain, Triston Jenkins, John Hight, Matthew Hight, and Kevin Tuttle. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred White, Jr., Keith Baker, Robert Bishop, and Jerry Layne.
