Mr. Homer Clayton Hutcherson, age 78, beloved husband of Lois Hutcherson, and resident of Santa Fe, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Fox and Bro. Kevin Morse officiating. Burial will follow in Theta Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 23, from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on June 17, 1936 in Santa Fe, Homer was the son of the late Algy Hutcherson and Beatrice Church Hutcherson. He attended Bethel School and was a crane operator and welder for the Nashville Bridge Company until his retirement in 1997. He was a long time member and deacon at Theta Baptist Church. Homer loved the outdoors and could often be found hunting, fishing, and gardening whenever he was able. He enjoyed tinkering with things, especially automobiles. Most of all, Homer was a family man. He was blessed with a loving wife, Lois, for 59 years, and they were inseparable. He will be remembered for his easy smile and loving nature. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Debbie Byram of Brentwood; two step-grandchildren: Steve (Suzy) Byram and Penny Byram; six step-great grandchildren and two step-great great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers. Active pallbearers will be Steve Byram, Tucker Byram, Jeff Byram, Zach Goodgame, Danny Muller, Josh Peden, Jerry Carney, and Rick Martin. Vince Greer and members of Theta Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Program at 223 Rosa L. Parks Avenue, Suite 301, Nashville, TN 37203, or the Theta Baptist Church Building Fund at 2321 Les Robinson Rd, Columbia, TN 38401.
