Charles Spencer

April 9, 1924 - March 19, 2015

Mr. Charles Spencer, age 90, beloved husband of Faye Spencer, and resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Shawn Gulley officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Sunday at 1:00 PM, one hour prior to the service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on April 9, 1924 in the Screamer Community of Maury County, Charles was the son of the late Robert and Ada Ferguson Spencer. He worked construction for International Bridge Company where he helped build the International Bridge from Michigan to Canada. He was of the Christian faith, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and taking road trips. His family will miss him dearly. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son: Christopher Michael Spencer of Lawrenceburg; grandson: Joseph Patrick Michael Spencer; and special friends: Jerry and Teresa Baggett, whom he loved like his own children.
