Mr. Robert James Sheldon, age 37, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services for Robert will be conducted 4:00 PM Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Deacon Daniel McCulley officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Resurrection in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2:00 PM until service time at the Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on July 21, 1977 in Hayward, CA, Robert was the son of Ronald Joseph (Christine) Sheldon, Sr. of Columbia and Denise Nordman Sheldon of DeRidder, LA. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and of the Catholic faith. Robert was an outdoorsman who enjoyed animals and fishing. He was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and was known as Low Flying Eagle in the Mic-O-Say Tribe. He loved kids and helping everyone. He helped out as a roadie for the band One Nation Under Control. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother: Ronald Joseph (Amanda) Sheldon, Jr. of Columbia; sister: Sabrina (Tom) Still of Shady Side, MD. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
