Sarah Ann Roder Boehms

December 25, 1936 - March 8, 2015

Sarah Ann Roder Boehms, age 78, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 11th at 12noon in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with John Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, March 10th from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Sarah was born on December 25, 1936 in Hickman County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Elijah Green Roder and the late Nancy McClain Roder. She graduated from Hickman County High School, and attended college at Columbia State. After many years as a homemaker, Sarah worked in retail at Harvey's and also at JC Penney's. Sarah was a member of Graymere Church of Christ and very active in the senior group. "Mom" had unconditional love for everyone, treasuring her family and cherishing her role as "Grandma!" Sarah is survived by her daughters: Pam (Mike) Herbert of Columbia and Phyllis (Jody) Herbert of Nashville; brother: Larry (Nancy) Roder of Lebanon; sister: Minnie (Willie) Powers of Centerville; grandchildren: Kathryn (Jeremy) Blackwell, Nathan Herbert, and Rachel Herbert; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Adult Ministries from Graymere Church of Christ. The Senior Adult Ministries at Graymere Church of Christ brought Sarah many years of joy and the family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Senior Adult Ministries at Graymere Church of Christ 1320 Trotwood Ave. Columbia, TN 38401.
