Mrs. Betty Jane Boshers Dugger, age 84, a resident of Dimple Court in Columbia, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 7, 2015. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM and again one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Mt. Pleasant, Betty was born on December 8, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Will and Ruby Evans Boshers. She was a 1948 graduate of Haylong High school in Mt. Pleasant and a long time member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Columbia. She highly enjoyed her church and church family. She was a hard worker and worked many years as a sales representative for Sears and Roebuck in Columbia and Mt. Pleasant. Betty loved flowers and decorating for the Christmas holiday. She enjoyed sewing and often sewed for different occasions for her church. She liked travelling which included going to the beach, the Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg, just to name a few. You could often find Betty watching games shows, particularly her favorites, "Wheel of Fortune" and "The Price is Right." She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and will be deeply missed. She is survived by a daughter: Susie Dugger Sundby of Columbia; brothers: Van Boshers of Columbia, James Ray Boshers of Mt. Pleasant; sister: Sara Ellen Phillips of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren: Joanna (Micah) Loyed of Murfreesboro, Joshua (Mallory) Martin of Knoxville; great-grandchildren: Grayson Loyed and Moira Martin; and various nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Amos Dugger and her son, Richard Dugger. Pallbearers will be: Joshua Martin, Micah Loyed, Donnie Boshers, Van Boshers, James Ray Boshers, and Michael Boshers. Betty's past co-workers at Sears and Roebuck in Columbia and Mt. Pleasant and her church family at Highland Park Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
