Rodney Burks

Mr. Rodney Delano Burks, age 31, a resident of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at St. Thomas of Rutherford. A service of celebration of Rodney's life will be held in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 5:00 PM, with remembrances to be shared by his family and friends and officiated by Dale Shelton. The family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday from 3:00 PM until time of service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born December 13, 1983 in Detroit, MI, son of Veda Burks Caddell of Columbia and the late Rodney Willis. He was a driver for Transforce Trucking in Lebanon, TN. His dream was to be an actor and entertainer. He wrote a play about a video game that he and his brother use to play when they were younger. Rodney enjoyed listening to music, watching a good movie and dinning out with his family and friends. He had a passionate drive for learning about automobiles. It was amazing to listen to him talk about and put into action skillfully what he learned on his own. In addition to his mother, Rodney is survived by a brother: Antwaun Burks of Atlanta, GA; a sister: Trenee Caddell of Columbia; step-father: Tommie Caddell of Columbia; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister: Tamyla Caddell; his maternal grandparents: Nathaniel and Bessie Burks. The family would like to thank all who have shown their love and kindness during this time of sorrow.
