John Brooks, Jr.

February 17, 1969 - March 2, 2015

Mr. John T. Brooks, Jr. age 46, husband of Sherri Brooks, and a resident of Summertown, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Health & Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Keith Baker and Bill Myers officiating. The family will also receive friends for visitation on Friday two hours prior to the service from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Maury County, John was born on February 17, 1969 and was the son of the late John T. and Mary Elizabeth Howell Brooks. He was of the Church of Christ faith and previously worked as a lineman for Highlines Construction Inc. He often enjoyed hunting and fishing, but above all, he enjoyed playing golf. John also loved his two dogs and two cats, especially his weenie dog: Black Jack. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step- son: Michael McCullom of Summertown; sister: Wanda (Tim) Clark of Culleoka; nephews: Tim Clark, Jr., Randall (Mandy) Clark both of Culleoka; great-nieces: Allyssa Clark, Kaylee Clark, Laney Clark all of Culleoka; sisters-in-law: Cindy Glover, Lisa (Ronnie) McGehee both of Star City, Arkansas; mothers and fathers-in-law: Billy & Phyllis Townsend of Hohenwald, Gerald & Judy Glover of Pickens, Oklahoma; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and step-great-niece and a step-great-nephew.
