Charles F. Harvell

Mr. Charles F. Harvell, age 84, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Signature Healthcare. The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date in Michigan. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and services. Charles was born on November 27, 1930 in Carleton, Michigan. He was married to the love of his life, Beverly Harvell, for 54 years until she preceded him in death in 2005. Charles was the son of the late Herman Harvell, Sr. and the late Annabelle Kirk Harvell. He served his country in the United States Army and worked on the railroad for over 30 years until he retired. He also spent the majority of his life working as a brick layer. His family described him as being an avid outdoorsman who was an excellent family man. He is survived by his daughters: Deborah H. (Jeff) Walls of Carlton, Michigan, Jill H. (Gilbert) Beasley of South Rockwood, Michigan, Nancy H. (Michael) Dunn of Columbia, Tennessee; grandchildren: Jared, Erica, Tara, Chris, Holly; great-grandchild: Harper Lynn; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Vicky Sue Harvell; six brothers; and one sister.
