Dwight Lynn Chewning, age 85, husband of Lydia Minor Chewning, a resident of Lewisburg, TN passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at NHC Health Care of Lewisburg. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born September 9, 1929 in Coburg, KY, Lynn was the son of the late Robert Dwight and Helen Gadberry Chewning. He was personnel director for Walker Die Casting. He was an avid wood worker, doing repairs and restorations. Lynn served 9 years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: David (Tina) Chewning of Cornersville, Michael (Deb) Chewning of Spring Hill and Larry (Penny) Chewning of Woodbridge, CA; eight grandchildren: Christopher Chewning, Jason (Jesse) Chewning, Brandon (Allison) Chewning, Ben Chewning, Larry D. Chewning, Carson Chewning, Bennett Chewning and Desseree Chewning; and two great-grandchildren: Ethan Chewning and Jamie Chewning. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Bill Chewning and a brother: Ray Chewning. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project: 223 8th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37203.
