Mr. Ross Delk, age 64, a resident of Baker Road in Columbia, passed away Monday evening, January 26, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bill Myers and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Eternity in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will also visit with friends on Friday two hours prior to the service from 10:00 am - 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A native of Columbia, Ross was born on April 4, 1951, was the son of the late Jacob and Clara Roberts Delk, and was a graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mr. Delk's family described him as being a light hearted person who often enjoyed joking around and laughing. In his better days, he liked to fish and tinker around in the shop, working on cars and other things. Ross loved to cook, and was very good at it. He loved his family, and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his sons: Jake Delk of Memphis, Hunter Delk of Memphis; daughters: Jennifer (Brent) Penndleton of Lawrenceburg, Kayla (Zach) Gross of Chester, Illinois; sisters: Deborah (Brent) Barrow of Columbia, Diane (Wayne) Pylant of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Ryan Pendleton, Justin Pendleton, Lauren Pendleton, Laurelle Patmore, McClain Delk, Carynne Delk, Mason Delk, Kady Grau, Caleb Gross; nieces: Lorry White of Columbia, Wendy White O'Neal of Columbia, Kim White Kincade of Columbia; nephew: Hayden Barrow of Columbia; and daughter-in-law: Laurie Delk of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Delk. Pallbearers will be: Brent Pendleton, Brent Barrow, Hayden Barrow, McClain Delk, Dylan Hanvy, and Larry White.
