Betty Joyce Graves

Betty Joyce Graves, age 82, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday evening, January 25, 2015 at Poplar Estates. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Unity Cemetery in Jacks Creek, TN with Jay Cashion officiating. A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on April 13, 1932 in Waco, Texas, Betty was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lucille Williams Kelly. She was a graduate of Waco High School in Texas, a member of First Family Baptist Church in Columbia, and previously worked as a property manager in San Antonio, Texas. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading. She loved reading so much that in her lifetime she read 10,000 books. She also enjoyed gardening. Betty adored her dog, Larry, feeding her birds, and sitting on the porch, but above all, she loved her family. She is survived by her son: Stephen Graves of Deer Creek, Illinois; daughters: Lisa Baynard of Deer Creek, Illinois, Linda Cashion of Columbia; sister: Wanda Phillips of San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Graves. Pallbearers will be: Mark Cashion, Jay Cashion, Danny Cashion, Mike Baynard, Zach Baynard, and Stephen Graves. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Caregivers at Poplar Estates.
