Linda Anderson

July 10, 1944 - January 21, 2015

Mrs. Linda Sue Gray Anderson, age 70, wife of Loyce "Laccie" Anderson, and a resident of Denham Avenue in Columbia, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, at Parkway Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00until 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Born on July 10, 1944, in Maury County, Linda was the daughter of the late Malcolm Everette and Janie Lewis Gray. She was a graduate from Columbia Central High School. Linda was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and an avid lover of the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and riding motorbikes and go-carts. She loved to read and care for her flowers, of which she had a yard full. She and Laccie also loved to clog. Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, especially for her family and grandchildren, which is woven together by her selfless nature. Her family will remember her as a lady who loved completely, and always put others first. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons: Clay (Delana) Pruitt and James "Jimmy" Austin (Kim) Pruitt, both of Columbia; step-daughter: Sherry Boshers of Mt. Pleasant; sisters: Mary (Loyd) Craft of Mt. Juliet, Evelyn Miller of Indiana, Betty Dale of Columbia; grandchildren: James Austin Pruitt II and Brandy Gay Pruitt of Columbia; great grandchild: Franklin Tripp Pruitt of Lewisburg; step-granddaughters: Ciji Robinette, Britta Boshers, Tabitha Brooks; three step-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law; Katherine Nicholson of Columbia, Oma Wilhelm of Mt. Pleasant, Adell Gray of Columbia; Mother-in-law: JoAnn Anderson of Mt. Pleasant and a very special friend, Wanda Smith of Columbia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Malcolm "Junior" Gray, Edward Gray; and sisters: Elizabeth Walls and Nellie Pearl. Pallbearers will be Don Howell, Don Gray, Shane Riggins, Jay Pruitt, Billy Winn, and Larry Nicholson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Parkway Baptist Church Board of Deacons and Trustees and Dalton Greggs and Savanna Greggs. The family would like to extend special thanks to their church family and friends in the community for their support during this time of loss.
